Chocolate 101: Chocolate making workshop class
Take your chocolate love a step further, and learn how to make them on your own. The Chocolate 101 class is a perfect way to learn, and create delicious chocolate delicacies.
Your instructor, Uzma Sharif, is a third generation pastry chef and chocolatier who has been sharing her love of chocolate for a while. She has been an adjunct faculty member at Triton College since 2006 and has been teaching classes to adults of all ages. You will be working in groups of two and will make 2-3 different chocolate creations, including designing and handcrafting your very own signature chocolate truffles. Class includes hands on instruction and demonstrations, an apron, chef’s hat, recipes, and the chocolates you made in class to take home. Price per person is $65 for an adult. We are located in the heart of the Chicago Arts District, surrounded by beautiful art galleries and studios. There is free parking available. Within 5 minutes of all the major expressways. Right in front of the 18th St. stop on the 8 Halsted St. bus.
Classes are offered on Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. We can make special weekday and weekend reservations when possible. Please contact us for availability.
The chocolate making class is 1.5-2 hours long.
Private and corporate team building classes are available upon request. Class size is 4-8 students. Private classes are for groups of 8 or more students.
Redeeming a gift certificate for a class
When booking a class please include certificate number. Cancellation must be made within 1 week of class start time. If cancellation is not made within 1 week you are subject to a $25 rebooking fee. Please bring the gift certificate with you on day of class.
The chocolate making class takes place in all weather conditions.
Casual attire and comfortable shoes are suggested for this experience. We will be standing for the duration of the class so please dress accordingly. Aprons will be provided.
If you have a special diet or allergy please let us know. Our kitchen produces nut products using almonds, hazelnuts, and peanuts. If you have severe nut allergies, then this class may not be appropriate.
BYOB is allowed, however, you must bring your own plastic ware (glass is not allowed). We do not provide any type of drinking containers or bottle openers. No outside food is allowed.
Classes will consist of 8 people. If you have a group of friends already planning to attend together, please keep in mind that there might be additional joining the class. These classes can be made up of friends, couples, families, etc. To schedule classes larger than 8 please contact us to make special arrangements.
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule any class due to low registration.
Registration and Cancellation
Please register in advance. Payment must be made at time of registration.
Due to the large number of schedule requests we receive every day, please make sure of your dates and availability before you book your class. Cancellations made 48 hours prior to the class can receive class credit for a different class for up to 3 months.
Class Availability. Saturday June 27th (6 spots), Saturday July 25th and August 22nd. Space is limited.
